"I Am A Marlian" - Asa

Is it safe to say everyone is a Marlian?

Asa’s crucial position in the modern Nigerian music scene sets her apart: her laid-back alternative genre in a rather dance-laden high-temped industry coupled with a vast European audience. Today the Nigerian-French recording artist has four successful albums to her name, a Paris-recorded live album and a Prix Constantin award nomination.

“Let them take me perhaps I’ll  be as popular as Naira Marley.” Asa jokes, in reaction to Cool FM’s Kaylah’s claims on rumours about her arrested by the police during a music video shoot.  “I think I am a marlian. I love him.” Asa continues, heaping praises on controversial street artist Naira Marley who was apprehended by the EFCC last year on fraud grounds.

Asa also talked to Cool FM’s roadshow duo N6 and Kaylah about new album, her life outside ,music, her love for Naira Marley  of course and some of her coolest habits. In fact, she did mention some  point in life when she was a rapper. Watch full interview above.
